Python Job: Backend Engineer

How we work

• We have 2 meetings per week: weekly reflection and 1:1s
• In the weekly reflection we talk about our goals, wins, failures, learnings, problems, strategies, and tasks. We have a template with questions to get the discussion started which we adapt from time to time. Since this is our only strategic meeting, it ususally takes 2-4 hours.
• In the 1:1 we talk about how we feel, our tasks and task load, what we can do to be even happier, more efficient, less stressed, etc. Nice it’s difficult to carve time out to prepare for this meeting, we prepare in the first half of the meeting and then talk about it.
• We have a 15min daily standup at 9 am where we quickly go over the goals set in the weekly reflection.
• We work in person because we we’ve noticed our effectiveness is higher when being in the same room, often working on the same problem.
• We do sports together whenever we find a free hour: running, climbing, bouldering, weightlifting, etc. Hopefully, we’ll get the chance to do a skiing company trip next year!
